What is RFV?
This cell tower is but one example of how radio frequency is used. Others include television and radio broadcasts, microwave ovens, and remote keyless entry for cars.
Radio Frequency Vacuum (RFV) is the technology used to heat and remove water from timbers in our leading-edge, high-tech kilns.
Radio Frequency (RF) is the heating method that gently, and evenly turns water to vapor in our kilns. Because RF heats an entire kiln charge (kiln charge is the term for the load of lumber to be dried in a kiln) at once, instead of heating from the outside in, we are able to dry large timbers to the core with very even moisture content distribution.
Drying in a Vacuum environment allows us to boil water at a very low temperature (90° F compared to 212° F) and also helps pull water out through the same natural paths it travelled when the tree was living. Drying at such a low temperature also provides for a very gentle cycle for the timbers.
